Snow caused closures, delays, and health warnings due to bitter cold

Early this morning, about 1 a.m., it snowed about two inches, leaving everything wet and slick. Some of the Wichita Falls schools, daycare centers, and other official county meetings were either cancelled or delayed for a few hours. This wasn‘t as bad as the blizzard of 2009, where there was so much snow and ice, that it was four days before anyone could travel safely on the roads and there was such a strain on the electrical power grid, that random rolling blackouts had to be implemented.
